Misericordes

A post of few words today, one I think that my friend, Aril from Gnat Bottomed Towers will be partial to. For a change I’ll let the pictures tell the story. I love looking around old churches. The attention to detail is wonderful. Sometimes if you lift up the seats in the area where the choir sit you might find misericordes, lovely carvings like these. I snapped these pictures in St David’s Cathedral after sneaking a look on a holiday to Pembrokeshire earlier in the year. The owl is my favourite so gets pride of place.

  1. A new word for me. Whether religious or no, churches are some of the best places to visit in any place. They are loaded with new and often ancient history and stories.
