Malteser Cheesecake

Me, I like an indulgent luxurious dessert made with expensive dark chocolate. My boys complain that they are too rich. ‘Too chocolately!’ they cry. There’s no such thing in my book. To keep them happy I made this no cook Malteser cheesecake the other day with two types of ‘kiddy sweeties’. Maltesers, or Whoppers as I’ve learned that they’re called in the States and the newish Teaser bars that contain honeycomb. The base was malted milk biscuits. The result was very good indeed and so worth a share.

Follow the link here to find the recipe that I used for Malteser Cheesecake. If you do you’ll find a picture of a much more sensational looking dessert than my version featured here. There’s a good reason for that. I write a personal blog not cookery posts for goodness sake. I don’t have time for all the food porn malarkey. Having said that I pretty much followed the recipe crushing the Teasers into the mixture. I omitted the cream decoration from the top. There was already over a kilo of cream, cheese and butter in it before I added the topping. Wisely, I thought that our arteries would struggle enough without extra dairy produce!

  1. What is this ‘too chocolatey’ malarkey?? Heresy!!!
Having said which, this does look very tasty. Hah, I laughed at your ‘no time for food porn malarkey’. My other half values presentation more than I do when cooking. My motto ‘tasty, not pretty’ 🙂
